Baby Shower Food Ideas Everyone Will Love
Char “Cute” Erie & Fun and Whimsical Food Ideas
Baby showers are all about celebrating a new life and sharing joy with the Mom-to-be and her friends and family. What better way to do that than with good food and great company! You want to serve some seriously good eats that are fun, whimsical and in keeping with the spirit of the event. Most foods can be tailored to fit in with a shower that celebrates either gender, a gender neutral shower or any baby shower theme.
Baby showers generally involve mingling, visiting, gift opening and playing games. Finger foods are a great choice to accommodate this situation. It is a good idea to have a nice mix of both sweet and savory selections. Make sure to offer items that do not include deli meats or soft cheeses as it is not generally recommended for Moms-to-be to eat these items.
Ideas For Savory Selections:
Some nice savory selections include Mini Quiches, Caprese Skewers, Sliders (pulled pork, chicken or meatball), Grilled Chicken Skewers, Crackers and Whole Grain Breads with pasteurized cheeses and Veggie Trays with dips. Charcuterie boards with a variety of meats, cheeses, veggies and fruit are all the rage now and you have an opportunity to get super creative and have a lot of fun.
For baby showers, I like to make a train out of vegetables for the center of the veggie board! Make the train cars from brightly colored peppers and the wheels from cucumbers. Hollow out additional peppers to hold the dips! Fill the train cars with cut up veggies. So fun and unexpected!

Ideas for Sweet Selections
I like to keep things simple with the desserts. You certainly can make or have an elaborate cake made but I suggest doing individual desserts such as fruit, cookies, cupcakes and cake pops. There are so many variations of cookies, cupcakes and fruit . Another fun and creative dessert idea is a a color coded candy charcuterie board that celebrates the gender of the baby or the theme of the shower. For example, this could include lollipops, gumballs, taffy, color coordinated Kisses, macaroons , licorice and gummies. The possibilities are endless! The finger food dessert service is so nice because nobody has to be responsible for cutting and serving the cake. Everyone can enjoy the party!

Char “Cute” Erie Cups. Fun, Easy to Serve And They Look Adorable!
I was recently asked to help provide food for a shower honoring my Daughter-In-Law. My first thought was a charcuterie board, however, I started looking around for supplies and food and decided it would be fun to make individual cups full of goodies. Some ideas to add to your cups include, crackers, breadsticks, pretzels, meat and cheese skewers, grapes, berries, olives, veggie sticks and color coordinated, individually wrapped candy. I found some fun cups, decorations and skewers to make them special. My main sources for these types of things are Hobby Lobby and Amazon. You can find just about anything you can imagine! I loved the bear skewers I found for these cups on Amazon and like to use tiny clothespins on most everything! So happy with the results!

Planning food for a baby shower does not need to be stressful. It is all about offering a delicious variety of foods with a thoughtful, festive presentation and a big helping of love that will make the Mom-to-be feel truly celebrated.
Celebrate, Have Fun & Enjoy That Precious New Baby When He or She Arrives!
