New Poshmark Shipping Rules & Prices: Things You Need To Know Now

Poshmark has lowered it’s shipping charges for the first time in 10 years! It sure isn’t very often anymore that we hear about a company lowering shipping costs rather than raising them! This is a good thing. It is good for the millions of Poshmark shoppers out there and it is awesome for those of us who have and maintain a Poshmark closet.

Just a little bit about my Poshmark background. I started selling on Poshmark on August 17, 2019. I have 55,695 followers and am a Poshmark Ambassador. I have certainly not gotten rich on Poshmark, but have made a fair amount of money and it is more than worth the time I spend listing merchandise, packing & shipping my sales, sharing my closet , managing my pricing and communicating with my customers. I highly recommend it to anyone who has clothing or household items they would like to sell or to anyone who loves to thrift and resell for a profit. I have a lot of fun with it and the app is super user friendly. 😊

On September 12, 2025 the flat shipping charge for customers went from $8.27 down to $6.49. The shipping is now being done via USPS Ground Advantage instead of USPS Priority Mail. As a buyer, you can now expect a slightly longer delivery window. This service has a 2-5 day delivery time as opposed to the 1-3 day window provided by Priority Mail. If we are being honest, however, the 1-3 day window didn’t necessarily apply to all areas of the country. I know that here in Montana, I seldom received my orders in 1-3 days. Nevertheless, this slight increase in delivery times hardly seems problematic when we take the reduction in shipping costs into consideration. Every little bit helps.

Accompanying the new shipping prices on Poshmark have come some changes for those of us who use the app. The biggest change for those of us who sell on the platform is the type of packaging we must now use moving forward. In the past we have been able to conveniently pick up Priority Mail packaging in the form of mailers and assorted sizes of boxes at no charge at any post office or even have it delivered to our homes. We can no longer use that packaging. There will be a $5 charge per package charged by Poshmark to any seller that continues to use that packaging. You can, of course, use any of your own packing materials. I have gotten some super cute and decorative mailers to use for my own business and can use any boxes I might have for larger items. Just like before, if your outgoing package weighs more than 5lbs, you need to go on the app and print out a label for the correct amount per the weight of your package. This $ amount comes out of your profits. Free Ground Advantage packaging is available to Poshmark users. To receive this free packaging, sellers must order supplies directly from USPS by providing the name of your Poshmark closet. You can do this by calling the # provided on the Poshmark support page or by emailing USPS, including your Poshmark closet name, your shipping address and your contact information.

I think nice packaging is important to any mail order business and your Poshmark business is no different. Buyers appreciate receiving their products in great condition and neatly packaged. I know there are a couple of companies I will not order from again because of the shoddy packaging and the wrinkled and less than desirable condition of the items ordered. (A little harsh I know, but here we are.😉) A little effort goes a long way in enhancing your customer’s experiences . I use clear poly bags, clear label pouches, Thank You stickers and tissue paper and ribbon if the item will not easily fit into the clear poly bag. With the packaging changes, I have also ordered and use pretty, floral mailers. Buyers appreciate the extra effort and may order from you more often.

However, with these recent changes, I was thinking it would be a good idea to put some relevant information out there for those of you who have closets now.
