The Importance of a Self Care Routine at Bedtime: Products I Love, A List

In this fast paced world we inhabit, we rush through our days, moving from one necessary task to the next. After all, so many people we love depend on us. Many of us juggle multiple roles on a daily basis. In our quest to get everything done that needs to be done, and do it well, there is one thing we generally neglect – our own bedtime self-care routine. Winding down and getting ready for bed is not just about sleep. The self-care that we provide for ourselves sets a positive tone for the next day and allows us to clear our heads and relax for the night. It is so important. It is all about nurturing your mind, body and spirit. Prioritizing bedtime self-care is a great investment in your overall well-being. Here are some tips for establishing your bedtime routine:

  • Limit screen time
  • Create a relaxing atmosphere in your bedroom
  • Use aromatherapy
  • Read or listen to soothing music or an audio book
  • Take a warm bath or shower
  • Follow your skin care routine with products you love for both your face and body
  • Practice gentle stretching, deep breathing or meditation
  • Try and get ready for bed around the same time each evening

If you have a tendency to be anxious and have problems with insomnia, having a soothing bedtime routine can go a long way towards relaxing, quieting your mind and preparing for a good night’s sleep.
