The Softest Sheets I Have Ever Slept On-At the Most Charming Hotel I Have Ever Visited!
I have stayed in my fair share of very nice hotels and have had my fair share of adventures so I was completely surprised and delighted when we happened upon The Edith Hotel in White Sulphur Springs, MT. White Sulphur Springs is a little historic town located 76 miles from our capital city of Helena which is located in west central Montana. We often take little road trips in the summertime to destinations here in Montana that we have not visited before in order to explore our beautiful state. We travelled to White Sulphur Springs to enjoy the hot springs (which was delightful by the way) and to play a round of golf. Unfortunately, the soggy weather put a halt to our tee time. The Edith Hotel is hands down the most charming, effortlessly stylish hotel that I have ever had the pleasure of checking into. It was truly a great experience! Let’s talk about the trip, the hotel and those sheets!
The Spa at White Sulphur Springs is a real treat. Enjoy the wonderful relaxing waters of the iconic hot springs. There are 2 outdoor pools and one indoor pool to choose from. We enjoyed it immensely. Good for the soul! ๐ (And the old bones ๐)

We started our 251 mile trek to White Sulphur Springs from our home in Bigfork and traveled through the Swan and Seeley Lake area which is one of the most beautiful drives in the state. Once you have made it through Seeley/Swan you pop out at a little spot called Clearwater Junction. Home to an enormous cow statue named Stoney. ๐ค ๐ฎ He has been there longer than most of the people around there! One must definitely ask the question-“have you even gone on a road trip in MT without taking your picture with Stoney? โ Check!

We continued our journey to White Sulphur Springs and stopped for a drink at a charming, old school MT bar called Betsy’s in Townsend. I mean, that is all part of a MT road trip after all! So many interesting places to be discovered along the way. Townsend is another tiny town with a lots of interesting old buildings, thrift and antique stores and tons of MT history. We have had some the most fun and have met some of the nicest people when we stop in fun little random places on our way down the road.

When we arrived at our destination, we went straight to the Edith Hotel. Let me set the scene-the lobby was beautiful, full of old charming furniture and an eclectic collection of art on the walls. There were vintage lamps and beautiful chandeliers. None of it really matched or made any sense but it was perfect! There were vases of fresh flowers and a beautiful old table close to the desk that had plates of warm chocolate chip cookies and a big pitcher of frosty milk! The morning breakfast offered fresh pastries, fresh fruit, fresh coffee and a large variety of yummy delights. And the staff-what can I say…the friendliest most accommodating group of ladies that I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with. They were REALLY glad we were there and very clearly appreciated that we had chosen to stay with them! A rarity in today’s world!
The room itself was equally delightful, though not as extravagantly decorated. There were many tiny touches throughout the room that spoke to the history and past of the area. There were high end self care items and everything about the room felt like a little secret waiting to be discovered. It was large, clean and lovely! But nothing, and I do mean nothing could have prepared me for those sheets!! That bed just hugged you right back when you sunk in! The sheets were impossibly soft and liquid like in texture. I just couldn’t stop running my hands over them! Crisp, velvety and cool to the touch. I actually looked for any identifying features on them so I could order a set for home. (Found them!) Yes, I am totally that person now.

I have stayed in many places during my travels, but The Edith Hotel left an impression deeper than just a clean, comfortable place to stay. We felt a sense of warmth, care and comfort that is hard to describe. If you ever find yourself in White Sulphur Springs, MT (and why not?) make sure you treat yourself to a stay at the incredible Edith Hotel!
White Sulphur Springs had one more big surprise in store for us! They have a castle…who knew. So lovely, charming and unexpected! It just so happens that it is the only castle in MT. Built in 1892 by Byron Roger Sherman, the Castle of White Sulphur Springs, also know as the Byron R. Sherman House is poised on the highest point in town, overlooking the Smith Valley River. The entire Victorian castle is made from solid granite hauled from the Castle Mountains by oxen. The Castle is complete with period furniture, mineral samples, clothing and artifacts from the region’s past. The castle is truly fit for a king(or queen ๐๐) and has been very well preserved.

Now! About those sheets! If you know me at all, you know that when it comes to home items such as bedding, towels etc., I like the best. I think it is important that you make your home as nice as you can and buy the nicest possible things you can afford to make your home a comfortable, cozy refuge from the world that, for some can be very stressful and tiring. Making your home as nice as possible for yourselves and your loved ones is top tier self care and necessary in my opinion. I have tried and enjoyed many different types of bedding but these sheets are next level. They are called Coop Comphy Softspa Bed Sheets. I have linked them below. I encourage you to take a look! I am very happy to report that I have just received mine in the mail and they will be on the bed in the wink of an eye! ๐ Yay!!! P.S., first night with them on the bed last night!! I have no words! Pure luxury! Soft, fluid….just beyond!

I wish everyone Happy Trails and great adventures when they take road trips (come and see us in beautiful MT) and comfy restful nights!!! Don’t we all deserve that? And don’t forget to stop at the little local places along the way, they add so much to a road trip! Hidden treasures to be sure! Sweet dreams and happy adventures!
